"Homeopathy-A Test" is a health and medicine documentary which is part of BBC Two's flagship Horizon series. It has a running time of 44 minutes and answers the age old questions regarding the elusive field of Homeopathic medicines. The film is written and produced by Nathan Williams, and is narrated by Neil Pearson. The film assembles a team of the world's top and most respected scientists to test the effectiveness of homeopathic solutions in curing some form of disease.Homeopathy Documentary BBC - The film starts with a brief introduction to homeopathy and we learn that it originated some 200 years ago, nowadays many powerful people like actors, pop stars, and politicians prefer to have homeopathic treatment rather than conventional medicines. However, scientists remain of the opinion that homeopathy does not work, and they have not received any proof that it really does work.Much of homeopathy's appeal has been attributed to the Placebo Effect; in which a person convinces himself that a medicine is effective just because he wants to believe it and has already formed a pre developed nation that it is doing him good. Each of us perceives things differently and some of us like to think homeopathy really is effective, and we convince ourselves.Homeopathy Documentary BBC - This is where the film comes in; it consists of different tests (all carried out under the scrutiny of reputable scientists). Many of homeopathy's greatest myths are tested such as; water has the power to remember substances that were dissolved in it, and various homeopathic solutions are tested on real subjects to see if they are any effective at all. The water memory test turns out to be unfruitful, and it is established once and for all that water does not have any such thing as a memory. The second test initially proves to be genuine, with a marked improvement in all test patients. But when a stricter test is undertaken, all goes haywire. It appears that homeopathy has a more or less random effect on its patients, some show improvement (which may be due to a coincidence) while majority of them show little or no effect at all.For those who are very interested in Health, Life, Earth, Medical, Engineering Science and interested in learning.
